Peonies on White Carrara Marble
I'm excited to introduce the 'Peonies on White Carrara Marble' silk scarf. Made in Italy, the printed silk twill scarf is finished with a hand-rolled hem. At 35.5 inches square, the scarf is large enough to wear in a variety of ways, while the light 12mm silk twill is delicate enough to fold into a head band or tie onto your handbag to complete your outfit.
The silk twill peony scarf was designed with variations of pink peonies that I photographed, delicately arranged over white carrara marble. The scarf is finished with a soft pink border.
I've always loved the delicate beauty of peonies- they're among my favorite flowers. The pretty petals and scent always make any room feel more pretty and complete. The large, luxurious flowers bloomed abundantly in my mother's flower gardens while I was growing up. However, it wasn't until I was living in Manhattan that I really learned to appreciate them. Not every flower shop in New York City sells peonies, and the ones that do want the usual New York City markup. Peonies have become something special- flowers that are to be enjoyed and admired for the short length of time they remain fresh after being cut.
As for the white carrara marble, I have several tables in my home with white carrara marble tops. White carrara marble is timeless- and I know I'll never get tired of it.
